Mezzotint naar een zelfportret van Fiedler (1697-1765) ten halve lijve. Hij staat lichtjes naar links en zijn hoofd is lichtjes naar rechts gedraaid met zijn blik naar voren. Hij leunt op een vensterbank. In zijn linkerhand heeft hij een palet en borstels vast en in zijn rechterhand een pijp. Hij draagt een met bont afgezette muts en een kamerjas, ook afgezet met bont en daaronder een wit open hemd.
